Comments enabled!

I enabled comments again. I upgraded to the newest WordPress and installed the AuthImage plugin by Gudlyf . This requires you to type over a few letters from an image, which is common for most web-based e-mail services and a lot of forums these days. If you have any problems commenting because of this plugin, mail me and let me know!.

Fruits of the labor (Unix crypt() in C#)

Like I said earlier, I started working on a new project at work. And the first fruits of the labor are ripe for the picking :-)
I submitted an article over at the CodeProject which is a C# implementation of the Unix crypt() function. So if you need something like that, you over there and have a look.

This reminds me, I really need to update this page so I can put some of my work here.

Longhorn-script?

My girlfriend has a Mac. So lately I’ve been doing some searching on various Mac sites to get some info on how to get certain stuff working for me. One of the best features of Mac OS, must be Apple Script. You can script nearly anything! and you can assign scripts not only to shortcut keys (Windows can do that with VBScript as well), but you can assign them to objects (files or folders). Now here is something I’d like to see in Longhorn. Give me C#-script that I can assign to anything on my PC. Let me assign it to files, so I can have action taken when they are opened, or updated. To folders, so I can take action when a new file is moved to the folder. And to “My computer”, so I can easily take action when a digital camera is added, or some other USB device. I could do some very interesting stuff. And I know the new commandline for Longhorn will be C# scriptable….

Comments disabled for the moment

Okay, this comment spam bullshit is driving me nuts. I usually got 4 to 5 e-mails per day, telling me there was a comment I should approve (I turned that on just for this shit), but just now I received about 25 e-mails with comment approvals. All spam!! That made me decide to turn off comments for the moment (not that anyone ever comments…). I’m currently looking into some counter-measures and will turn them back on when I found some.

It’s been a while

It’s been a while since I posted anything. I can give you the usual excuses (work, girlfriend, etc…), but all of these are just that, excuses. I did spend almost 4 weeks without internet at home (well, dial-up, but you can hardly call that internet, can you?).

What have I been up to that last months? At work I did a small C# project and for the rest did some work on my PHP program (maintenance) and spend a lot of time working on specs and documentation. I’m really eager to jump in and start coding something. Which is something that might happend soon, because I have been put on a large project, during which I should do a lot of C# work. Which also means I might have some interesting stuff to share as I learn more “in the field”. And I’ve also picked up my passion of game programming. This time I’m gonna try doing it in C# and managed Direct-X (MDX). I might even get around to producing something that will actually render something on the screen this time around.
